4.  Earl B. Lattier

 


Earl B. Lattier was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now U.L.L.) for two years.  Then in May of 1941 he volunteered for the US Army Air Corps, the forerunner of today's Air Force.  When the war started, he was assigned to an air unit in the southwest Pacific.

Earl's plane was shot down in New Guinea on November 25, 1942.  His body was not recovered.

Earl was the son of Victor S. Lattier and Nellie Grant Lattier of Abbeville.  He had two brothers who also served in World War II, V. S. Lattier, Jr., and James Ray Lattier.
